My favourite is biology and specifically molecular biology – the science of how proteins and nucleic acids (e.g. DNA) are made and how they work. I find it amazing how such tiny molecules can combine to form such complex living things.

The best advice I can give you I think is to not just try and memorise all the facts but to try and understand why these things happen. This will help you remember things for your exams and will make it easier to learn more complicated things that build on what you already know.

Definitely biology. Top is microbiology but really I love all of it – from the molecules up to whole ecosystems and everything in between. I agree with Greg – best tip is to go for understanding of concepts, not facts. Take the ones you love, and try to relate what you are learning to something that fascinates you – so if you are interested in health you could relate each concept to something disease related, and if you are interested in wildlife you could relate each concept to that. Keep the fun side of science going – the deeper you get into each science subject, the more creative things are.

My favourite is biology and I’m most interested in microbiology! I love learning about infectious diseases, the bacteria/viruses that can cause them and also what we can do to treat them.
I also agree with the others about needing to understand the course content rather than just memorising it, if you can understand something it’s so much easier to remember and apply to questions and problems.
