When I was a teenager was when I first really started to realise how complicated everything was underneath the kind of things we get taught at school. That made me want to find out more about how and why things work and the best way to do that was by learning about science 🙂

nice question! To be honest I wasn’t that interested in science when I was a kid/teenager. I don’t think I really understood what it was and the lessons in school were sadly quite boring. As I got older I learnt to scuba dive and fell in love with the underwater world. That’s why I carried on with biology – because I thought it would help me become a marine biologist. At uni I then realised how awesome microbes are and am now a microbiologist instead!

At school science made me want to learn more about the world around us and how everything works and fits together. I found this super interesting and it’s kept me interested in science for many years now!
