I really want to keep doing science. I’m hoping that in the next 10 years I’ll be running my own lab group in a university and doing lots of cool science.

It’s important to know what your personal values are. That helps me setting my aims for the future.

I want to make a difference in the World. It doesn’t have to be massive, as long as I’m satisfied with it. And I definitely want to contribute more to making our environment cleaner and more sustainable.

I promised myself to do one thing a week for the environment. For example, send a letter to a grocery chain or a product manufacturer and ask them to change their packaging for recyclable ones. It does matter!

I really want to make a difference. I’m aiming to be able to do that through science. I want to help ensure that science is focused on things that are useful to the world, as I think we have a lot of challenges which science can help solve

In the short term I want to finish my training so I can start doing the more important and complicated parts of my job. In the long term I’d like to get to the point where I can help run the hospital lab but that’s quite a way in the future!

In the future I want to be still working in science, but not necessarily doing the actual science. Whether this means I help people find money to do science, or help groups of people who may not have access to what they need to do science.

Work wise, all I’m aiming for is to enjoy what I do for work (since I work quite a bit).
I follow what I enjoy and I tend to do better at things I find challenging or fun. I tend to teach/lecture more these days as well as working in the lab.
