• Question: what advise would you give to young people who want to grow up and be a scientist?

      The main thing I think is to be curious about the world and keep an open mind. If you can find an area you find particularly interesting, it makes learning about it (and even learning about everything else) much easier! Obviously it’s also important to work hard at school, most jobs in science require a degree and if you can get on a course at university that interests you this will help a lot!

      I agree with Greg – there are so many ways you could be a scientist, from a wildlife ecologist to a neuroscientist working in hospitals. Find the bit that makes you come alive, and follow that!

      Stay curious! Find a topic you’re very interested in and find out as much as you can about it! There are so many different subjects in science and so many different careers in each area which you can do.
