      I don’t think the media is exaggerating the rate at which the polar ice caps are melting, but news like this can be sensationalised. However, if any news is to be sensationalised, the urgent need to save the planet is one that, in my opinion, should be.

      I agree with Lucy. I think one thing that they could do better is present hopeful good news stories too. There may not be many of them but if people feel that it is hopeless or out of their control then they might not try. We need to know that our behaviour change can have a positive impact.

      Like the others said, I don’t think it’s really exaggerated. I would say though that the melting ice caps and rising sea levels are only part of the problem with climate change – there are a lot of other problems that a rise in temperature would cause that don’t get as much attention as they should!
